WHEREAS: The historical importance that represents the elaboration of a confession of faith for the growth of the church in its historical connection with the corpus of the Christian faith.​

​

WHEREAS: The need that a confession of faith implies for the projection of the logistics project that facilitates the cohesion of a local congregation.

​

WHEREAS: The contribution that a confession of faith seeks so that believers can have a clear vision of what the church believes and affirms, in order to allow a better mechanic for their insertion into it.

​

WHEREAS: The positive impact generated by the confession of faith for the proper promotion of the local congregation among people who need to know about it.

​

We, meeting together, as members of the joint leadership of House of Grace / Casa de Gracia, after addressing past recitals, affirm the following:

TITLE I

ABOUT THE SACRED SCRIPTURES

___________________________________________________________________________

Article 1. Its Revelation. We affirm that the Bible is the written revelation of God to man, and in that way the 66 books that have been given to us by the Holy Spirit constitute the plenary Word of God (inspired in all its parts equally).

Article 2. Your Divine Inspiration. We affirm that the Word of God is an objective, propositional revelation, verbally inspired by each word, absolutely inerrant in the original documents, and infallible in its intrinsic content.

Article 3. As a Rule of Faith. We affirm that the Bible constitutes the only infallible standard of faith and practice. We understand that God spoke in his written Word through a dual process of authorship. The Holy Spirit guided the human authors in such a way that, through their individual personalities and different writing styles, they composed and wrote the Word of God for man, without error in the whole or in part.  

Paragraph. We affirm that, while there may be several applications of some particular passage of Scripture, there is only one true interpretation. Its meaning must be found by diligently applying the correct hermeneutics methods under the illumination of the Holy Spirit. The responsibility of believers is to study to reach the true intention and meaning of Scripture, recognizing that proper application is mandatory for all generations. However, the scriptural truth is in a position in which it judges men; who are never in a position to judge her.

TITLE II

ABOUT GOD

___________________________________________________________________________

Article 4. Its Nature. We affirm that there is only one living and true God, an infinite Spirit, who knows everything, perfect in all its attributes, one in essence, existing eternally in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, deserving worship.

Article 5. Your Attributes. We affirm that God the Father, the First Person of the Trinity, orders and arranges all things according to His purpose and grace. He is the Creator of all things. As the only absolute and omnipotent ruler in the universe, He is sovereign in creation, providence and redemption. His paternity involves both his designation within the Trinity and his relationship with humanity.

Paragraph. As the Creator God is the Maker of all men, but He is only the spiritual Father of believers. He has decreed for his own glory all things that happen. He continually sustains, directs and governs all creatures and all events. In his sovereignty He is neither the author of sin nor the one who approves, but neither does he cancel the responsibility of moral and intelligent creatures. In his grace He has chosen from eternity past those whom he has determined to be his; saves from sin through Jesus Christ; he adopts as his own all those who come to Him; and becomes, by adopting them, Father of his own.

TITLE III

ABOUT JESUS ​​CHRIST

Article 6. Its Nature. We affirm that Jesus Christ, the Second Person of the Trinity, possesses all the divine attributes, and in these He is equal to God, consubstantial and coeternal with the Father. We hold that God the Father created according to his own will, through his Son Jesus Christ, through whom all things continue to exist.

Article 7. His Incarnation. We affirm that in the Incarnation (God made man) Christ surrendered or set aside only the prerogatives of deity but nothing of the divine essence, neither in degree nor in type. In his Incarnation, the second Person of the Trinity, existing eternally, accepted all the essential characteristics of the human being and thus became God-Man. We understand that Jesus Christ represents humanity and deity in indivisible unity. We understand that our Lord Jesus Christ was born of a virgin; that he was God incarnate; His purpose was to reveal God, redeem men, and rule his Kingdom.

Paragraph. We affirm that, in the Incarnation, the Second Person of the Trinity set aside his right to all the prerogatives of coexistence with God and attributed an appropriate existence to a servant while never depriving himself of his divine attributes.

Article 8. His Expiatory Death. We affirm that our Lord Jesus Christ carried out our redemption through the shedding of his blood and his sacrificial death on the cross and that his death was voluntary, vicarious, substitute, propitiatory and redemptive.

Paragraph. We affirm that because the death of our Lord Jesus Christ was effective, the sinner who believes is freed from punishment, pay, power and one day from the very presence of sin; and that he is declared righteous, is granted eternal life, and is adopted into the family of God. We understand that our justification is assured by his literal, physical resurrection of the dead and that He now, after ascending, is at the right hand of the Father, where he is now our mediator as Advocate and High Priest.

Article 9. His Resurrection. We affirm that in the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave, God confirmed the deity of his Son and demonstrated that he has accepted the atoning work of Christ on the cross. The bodily resurrection of Jesus is also the guarantee of a future resurrection life.

Paragraph. We affirm that Jesus Christ will return to receive the Church, which is his body. We understand that the Lord Jesus Christ is the One through whom God will judge all mankind: believers, inhabitants of the earth who are alive and the dead incredulous.

Article 10. Your Mediation. As the Mediator between God and man, the Head of his Body that is the Church, and the coming Universal King, who will reign on the throne of David; He is the Judge who has the last word concerning all those who do not trust Him.

TITLE IV

ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

Article 11. Its Nature. We affirm that the Holy Spirit is a divine, eternal, non-derivative Person, who possesses all the attributes of personality and deity including intellect, emotions, will, eternity, omnipresence, omniscience, omnipotence and truthfulness. In all divine attributes and in substance He is equal to the Father and the Son.

Article 12. Its Dynamics. We affirm that the Holy Spirit executes the divine will in relation to all mankind. We recognize his sovereign activity in creation, the Incarnation, written revelation and the work of salvation.

Paragraph. We affirm that the work of the Holy Spirit at this time began at Pentecost when He descended from the Father as promised by Christ to begin and complete the building of the Body of Christ, which is his Church. The broad spectrum of his divine activity includes convincing the world of sin, justice and judgment; glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ and transforming believers in the image of Christ.

Article 13. Your Work. We affirm that the Holy Spirit is the divine Master, who guided the apostles and prophets in all truth, as they gave themselves to write the revelation of God, the Bible. Every believer has the presence of the Holy Spirit who dwells in him, from the moment of salvation and the duty of all those born of the Spirit is to be filled (controlled by) the Spirit.

Article 14. Gifts of the Spirit. We affirm that the Holy Spirit administers spiritual gifts to the Church. The Holy Spirit does not glorify Himself or his gifts through ostentatious signs, but glorifies Christ by implementing his work of redemption of the lost and edification of believers in the most holy faith. We understand, in this regard, that the Spirit is sovereign in granting all his gifts for the certification of the apostolic ministry in primitive times, and for the perfecting of the saints today.

TITLE V

ABOUT MAN

Article 15. Its Origin. We affirm that man was directly and immediately created by God in his image and likeness. Man was created sinless with a rational nature, with intelligence, will, personal determination and moral responsibility towards God. We understand that God's intention in the creation of man was that he should glorify him, enjoy his communion, live his life in the divine will and thus fulfill God's purpose for man in the world.

Article 16. Your Sin. We affirm that in Adam's sin by disobeying the revealed will of God and his Word, man lost his state of forensic innocence, incurred the spiritual and physical death penalty; He became subject to the wrath of God, and he became inherently corrupt and totally unable to choose or do what is acceptable to God outside of divine grace. Without any power to have the capacity to restore himself, man is lost, without hope. Therefore, salvation is in its entirety the work of divine grace through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.  

Article 17. Your Total Depravity. We affirm that because all men of all ages in history were in Adam, they have been transmitted a corrupted nature by Adamic sin, Jesus Christ being the only exception. Therefore, all men are sinners by nature, by personal decision and by universal declaration; in this sense, it is correct to affirm: “Man is not a sinner because he sins; but he sins because he is a sinner. ” (one)

TITLE VI

ABOUT SALVATION

___________________________________________________________________________

Article 18. Its Nature. We affirm that salvation is entirely from God by grace based on the redemption of Jesus Christ, the merit of his shed blood and that it is not based on merits or works of the human being.

Article 19. Regeneration. We affirm that regeneration is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit through which divine nature and divine life are given. It is instantaneous and is carried out only by the power of the Holy Spirit through the Word of God, when the sinner in repentance, being trained by him, responds in faith to the divine provision of salvation. Genuine regeneration manifests itself in fruits worthy of repentance that are demonstrated in fair attitudes and behaviors. Good works will be their appropriate and fruitful evidence, and they will be experienced to the point where the believer submits to the control of the Holy Spirit in his life through faithful obedience to the Word of God. This obedience makes the believer more and more conformed to the image of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Article 20. Election. We affirm that election is the act of God through which, before the foundation of the world He chose in Christ those whom He in his grace regenerates, saves and sanctifies. We understand that sovereign choice does not contradict or deny man's responsibility to repent and trust Christ as Savior and Lord. However, because sovereign grace includes both the means to receive the gift of salvation as well as the gift itself, the sovereign choice results in what God determines. All those whom the Father calls himself will come in faith, and all who come in faith will receive them.

Paragraph. We affirm that the unmerited favor of God that grants totally depraved sinners is related to the one and only divine initiative, to his sovereign and merciful grace, without any relation to anything else outside of Him. We understand that the election should not be seen as if it were based merely on abstract sovereignty. God is truly sovereign, but He exercises this sovereignty in harmony with his other attributes, especially his omniscience, justice, wisdom, grace and love. This sovereignty will always exalt God's will in a way that is totally consistent with His Person, as revealed in the life of our Lord Jesus Christ.  

Article 21. Justification. We affirm that justification before God is a divine act through which He declares righteous those who, through faith in Christ, repent of their sins and confess Him as sovereign Lord. This justice is independent of any virtue or work of man and involves the imputation of our sins to Christ and the imputation of Christ's justice to us. Through this, God can be "the righteous, and he who justifies the one who is of the faith of Jesus." As explained elsewhere: “Christ bore our sins on his back, although not on his heart; we carry, on the other hand, the justice of Christ on our backs, although not in our hearts. ” (2)

Article 22. Sanctification. We affirm that every believer is sanctified (set apart) to God by justification and therefore declared a saint and therefore identified as a saint. This sanctification is positional and instantaneous and should not be confused with progressive sanctification. This state has to do with the position of the believer, not with his current practical life or condition.

Paragraph. We understand that through the work of the Holy Spirit there is also a progressive sanctification through which the believer's status is brought to a point closer to the position he enjoys through justification. Through obedience to the Word of God and the capacity given by the Spirit, the believer is able to live a life of greater holiness in accordance with the will of God, becoming more and more like Jesus Christ.

Paragraph. With respect to what was said in the previous paragraph, we affirm that every saved person is involved in a daily conflict - the new nature in Christ battling against the flesh - but there is adequate provision for victory through the Holy Spirit who dwells in the believer. However, the battle remains in the believer throughout this earthly life and never ends in its entirety. The total eradication of sin is not possible, but the Comforter provides what is necessary for victory over sin.

Article 23. Salvation Security. We affirm that all the redeemed, once they have been saved, are kept by the power of God and thus are safe in Christ forever. We understand that the privilege of believers is to rejoice in the certainty of their salvation through the testimony of the Word of God, which, nevertheless, clearly prohibits us from using Christian freedom as an occasion to live in sin.

Paragraph. We understand that throughout the Old and New Testaments, separation from sin is clearly called, and that the Scriptures clearly indicate that in the last days apostasy and worldliness will increase. We believe that from a deep gratitude for the undeserved grace that has been granted to us and because our glorious God is so worthy of our total consecration, all the saved must live in such a way that we show our reverent love to God and of This way does not bring dishonor to our Lord and Savior. We also affirm that God commands us to separate ourselves from all religious apostasy and mundane and sinful practices.

Paragraph. We hold that believers must be separated for our Lord Jesus Christ and affirm that the Christian life is a life of obedient justice that reflects the teaching of the Beatitudes and a continuous search for holiness.

TITLE VII

ABOUT THE CHURCH

___________________________________________________________________________

Article 24. Its Nature. We affirm that all who trust in Jesus Christ are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit in a united spiritual Body, the Church, the Bride of Christ, of which Christ is the Head. We understand that his formation began on the day of Pentecost and will be completed when Christ comes for his own.

Paragraph. We hold that the Church is a unique spiritual organism designed by Christ, constituted by all believers who have been born again in the present age. The Church is different from Israel, a mystery not revealed until this time.

Article 25. Your Organization. We affirm that the supreme authority of the Church is Christ and that leadership, gifts, order, discipline and worship are determined through their sovereignty, under the concept of the universal priesthood of believers. We assert the autonomy of the local church, which is free from any external authority or control, with the right to govern itself and free from interference from hierarchies.

Paragraph. We assume a model of mixed ecclesial government that combines the best of Presbyterian and congregationalist styles, focused on the formation of a pastoral team, chaired by the figure of the senior pastor and the board of elders, which will represent the interests of the congregation, taking decisions by consensus, and will allow the access of this to the ministries that function internally, among which the team of deacons should be mentioned. The elders will participate in administrative and ministerial matters. We believe scripturally that true churches cooperate with each other for the presentation and propagation of faith. 

Article 26. Its Purpose. We affirm that the purpose of the Church is to glorify God by edifying herself in faith, by being instructed in the Word, by having communion, by keeping ordinances and by extending and communicating the gospel to the entire world.

Article 27. Your Work. We assume the call of all saints to the work of service. We understand the importance of discipleship, the mutual responsibility of all believers to each other, as well as the need for discipline of members of the congregation who incur sin, according to the standards of Scripture. We maintain that ecclesiastical discipline is aimed at restoring the person.

Paragraph. We understand the need for the Church to cooperate with God as He accomplishes his purposes in the world. To that end, He gives the Church spiritual gifts. In the first place, he gives chosen men in order to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, and He also gives unique and special abilities to each member of the Body of Christ. We believe in the value of the gifts, delivered by the Spirit for the progress of the congregational life. We hold that God hears and answers the prayer of faith according to his own perfect will, in favor of the sick, those who are suffering and the afflicted.

Article 28. Its Ordinances. We affirm that the local church has been given two ordinances: baptism and the Lord's Supper.

Paragraph. Baptism. We understand that Christian baptism by immersion is the solemn and beautiful testimony of a believer showing his faith in the crucified, buried and resurrected Savior, his union with Him in his death to sin and his resurrection to a new life. It is also a sign of communion and identification with the visible body of Christ.

Paragraph. Lord's Supper. We understand that the Lord's Supper is the commemoration and proclamation of his death until He comes, and must always be preceded by a solemn personal evaluation. We affirm that, although the elements of Communion only represent the flesh and blood of Christ, figuratively, the Lord's Supper is in fact a communion with the risen Christ who is present in a unique way, having koinonia with his people. We hold the commemorative nature of the event and consider it vital to crown the Eucharistic mystery with a celebration of a festive nature.

TITLE VIII

ABOUT THE ANGELS

___________________________________________________________________________

Article 29. Holy Angels. We affirm that angels are created beings and therefore should not be worshiped. Although they are a higher order of creation than man, they have been created to serve God and worship him.

Paragraph. We understand that angels are not creatures that pay homage to the human being, nor that he can command them, but that they respond to God's direct orders.

Article 30. Fallen Angels. We affirm that Satan is a created angel and the instrument for the entrance of sin. He incurred in God's judgment in rebelling against his Creator, in bringing multitudes of angels with him in his fall and in introducing sin to the human race because of his temptation to Eve.

Paragraph. We understand that Satan is the open and declared enemy of God and man, the prince of this world, who has been defeated through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and will be eternally punished in the lake of fire.

TITLE IX

ON THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST

___________________________________________________________________________

Article 31. Intermediate State. We affirm that physical death does not involve the loss of our immaterial consciousness, that the soul of the redeemed immediately passes into the presence of Christ, that there is a separation between the soul and the body, and that, for the redeemed, such separation will continue until the first resurrection, when our soul and body will rejoin and be glorified forever. Until that time, the souls of the redeemed in Christ will remain in joyful communion with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Paragraph. Final judgment. We sustain the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to judgment and eternal punishment. We understand that the souls of those who are not saved in death are kept under punishment until the second resurrection, when the soul and body will be united. Then they will appear in the Great White Throne judgment and be thrown into hell, the lake of fire, separated from the life of God forever.

Article 32. Second Coming. We affirm the personal, bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ to reward men according to their works, and that this constitutes the blessed hope of believers.

Paragraph. Last Things We understand that God's righteous judgments will be poured out on an unbelieving world, and that these judgments will reach their climax by the time of Christ's glorious return to earth. He will return to earth to occupy the throne of David and establish his messianic reign, which will be characterized by harmony, justice, peace and righteousness.

 Article 33. Total Consumption. We affirm that, in the consummation of the times, the saved will enter the eternal state of glory with God, where they will enjoy communion with Him and with others, forever, in true "new heavens and new earth." Our Lord Jesus Christ, having fulfilled his redemptive mission, will then hand over the kingdom to God the Father so that in all spheres, the Triune God reigns forever.

EPILOGUE

Taking into account all the articles provided in this confession, we maintain that it will be in the public domain, so that external readers who wish to know the creed of our congregation, can access it if they wish to join our membership; In addition, it will serve as a platform for other local churches that wish to cooperate with the present to discover if their particular confessions fit the present in all the essential aspects of which, as Melanchton put it, "we cannot differ." (3) Finally, this confession will serve as a force of cohesion to integrate the same members of the congregation, based on what the church confesses, in order to overcome doctrinal disagreements,
